The Wet Spirometer
Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to introduce the student to the wet spirometer and the various lung volumes that may be determined using this instrument.
Materials and Methods: This lab requires an Intelitool Wet Spirometer, appropriate software, computer, and an LCD projector.
Experiment: This experiment will be conducted as a demonstration. The instructor will call for volunteers to determine the following lung volumes of each participant:
tidal volume
expiratory reserve volume
inspiratory reserve volume
vital capacity
